Phase Pistols & Pointed Ears:
Marauders

Two words: Lame Teaser.  T'Pol does look very awesome in her white desert gear, though. Okay, there was no response to a hail, and Reed isn't suspicious? No one is suspicious enough to take security with them? T'Pol carrys on the torch, and even slips that Enterprise scanned their dirtirum tanks. Whatever happened to the hats and sunglasses?

Reed would be pissed at the kid, and T'Pol seems very annoyed during the negotiations.  She looks very annoyed at the guys snooty attitude about 'no tours.'  Polly tells Archer something doesn't jive, but that he shouldn't judge them for seeming poor and shabby.  Aww....
Reed is in charge and he is still sitting at Tactical! Love the hair though.  At least he looks good.  Mayweather reports a Klingon ship is approaching, and Malcolm shifts a little. No, I'm not scared either, Mal ;0)  T'Pol thinks the whole Klingon setup below is stupid ( as do most viewers of this episode).  Archer babbles, 'They must realize you trade with other ships.' T'Pol looks to Archer, like Please do not get us involved!  Archer comms Enterprise and Reed answers very snippy 'Go ahead Captain.'  Reedy says 'there's no indication' the Klingons see them.  That means they don't have weapons charged, and Reed would know.

Trip whines he can't hear the Klingons and oil buddies debate, and T'Pol translates.  Trip comes back with 'Good ears'.  I swear T'Pol rolls her eyes.  T'Pol mearly blinks when the Klingons get rough. I think she doesn't see  a plan without Reed.  Okay, T'Pol runs out behind Archer, then she disappears, then reappears next to Trip. Oh if I could only  be an editor on this show!
T'Pol seems more concerned when the miners relay their horrid history. She tells them to contact their homeworld, and her nostrils even flare.  Archer comms Reedy, with Polly in tow, naturally. Reed reports the Bad Ks have left and that he is sending a shuttlepod down. Okay...what happened to the pod the Big 3 arrived in?

You know, we never had butt shots until Reed mentioned Polly's bum in Shuttlepod One. Now they're everywhere! T'Pol reports to Archer, both still in desert gear.  Archer doesn't want to leave, and T'Pol agrees.  However, she says short of killing the Klingons she doesn't see a way out.  Now who came up with that philosophy, I wonder? Killing them is the only way! 'Maloclm tells me...' Archer babbles about some technical crap. I so hate the show, not tell premise. Lazy writing.  Why couldn't we have seen Reed push towards Archer, then we can see what Archer's mental dilemma is, but no.
Archer goes down to the planet, and says 'I had a talk with my tactical officer...' Why didn't he bring Reed with him, allow him to collect data and show a convincing plan to the miners?  Archer continues 'We're confident you have the ability to defend yourselves.' We?

At  least Desert Gear clad Reed and T'Pol stand next to each other at the table 80) Hubba hubba make note! T'Pol has her leg hiked up on something, and Reed picks up a crusty rifle.  He mumbles to her, 'I was hoping for a bit more to work with.' Polly puts her head down, but raises her brown in response. If Captain Archer had taken you to the surface earlier, you would have been better prepared to make an accurate assesment. Great minds think alike!
Reed says he can work with these, always trying to impress anyone who can hear him. The miner dudes want to use Enterprise's weapons, but Reed counters 'But this battle won't be won with fire power. Deception and surprise can be just as powerful as brute force.' Since when, Malcolm?  Why does it seem so surprising to me that Malcolm could plan his way out of something instead of blow something up? Because when Malcolm does do some cool plan, he doesn't get the credit for it.

T'Pol agrees with her man, saying Klingons are stupid.  I'm telling you they created this plan together.  'Klingons are aggressive warriors but their tactics are crude.  They're slow to adapt to changing circumstances'. Polly cracks me up. She dissed Klingons, then props Malcolm, then disses humans again all in the same breath! Go girl!  Malcolm plays with the guns while Polly talks.  Tessec, the head miner dude alien wus, says the plan is 'ambitious'. Reed and T'Pol look at each other briefly, then turn back to business. Reed stares away, as if in deep thought over Trip's 'hot trap'.  He just stands there posed with his gun in hand.  T'Pol shifts at the hot trap talk also.  Ahem, oh yeah.

Malcolm returns to reality when Trip says 'Pressure.' T'Pol then stares at the floor, and Malcolm goes off into his own world again. However, he is well aware of the word 'fireworks' and sneers.  Archer's map is lame, and he copies off Malcolm's 'deception and surprise'. T'Pol really inches close to Malcolm!  Reed becomes very well aware of this, and tries to act interested in the map.  T'Pol stands there blankly, but in the wide shot you can see how close she is to Malcolm, especially in ratio with where Trip is standing.  Tessec, now having heard Archer's version of the plan, turns to Reed for information. Ha!
Reed asks if the hills 'Are they deep enough to hide in?' Only Reed can make hiding sound cool.  'If you keep your head down.' hehe. Malcolm really shifts and gets a chops rub look, but without the chops rub! Why will he say or do anything to impress anyone?

T'Pol takes over, saying they will take people to Enterprise for training. Reed's head snaps quickly towards her, but he doesn't look directly at her. I think he realized how obvious they are being.  T'Pol looks at Mally out of the corner of her eye. 'For whatever training we have time for.' She corrects.  <insert Reeds drunk giggle and tongue in cheek here.>
Reed gets stuck teaching the miner boys how to shoot.  He ever so suavelly turns and hands the gun to them.  Hoshi sets the target up, and Reed puts his hands on his belt.  The guy firing really sucks, and Malcolm crosses his arms.  He licks his lips, but Hoshi cuts in.  Malcolm acts like he doesn't mind, but he does.  Dork can't realize another chick is trying to impress him.  Malcolm is turned on by a woman who can shoot however, and he stares at Hoshi like 'If I had taken your offer in Silent Enemy I wouldn't have fallen for T'Pol.'

T'Pol certainly knows a lot about Klingon combat.  And you know she enjoyed making all the guys shift at 'disembowl'.  T'Pol says the Vulcan martial art takes years to master. You've got the rest of your life to teach Malcolm!  'Since I don't have a batleth, this will have to suffice.' Malcolm's reaction to not having a new alien toy weapon? Pity.
Polly tells Mayweather to hit her, for he can't hurt her. 'It's not you I'm worried about.'  Travis knows T'Pol will pumple him to his deathbead and them Malcolm will shoot him in his sleep. I must take a moment to honor Desert Clad Travis stripped to white tank top. <growl.> Meanwhile, Trip says something to the kid about 'Doing what Lieutenant Reed says'. Okay, again, imagine this story premise: We find out what Reed thinks of kids, not Trip for the umpteenth time. Besides when did this happen?:  'Malcolm's got this rule, you gotta be taller than a gun to use it.'

Oh, stunt double time.  I bet Malcolm has the hots for T'Pol's stunt double, too.  Besides, who wants to bet they changed together?!  Hello Reed's biceps!  It really cracks me up that Reed needed a scope to aim at dirt. He so wants to take out all the Klingons, especially when the good alien chick gets caught.  Malcolm knows, however, that they need to learn to defend themselves.  I think that is the moral of this A-Team, er sorry.  The chick gets away and then Reed fires at the Klingons.  Reed does indeed seem to have a soft spot for women, or is that a hard spot? >80)
Stunt T'Pol kicks Klingon ass!  She didn't have to kick him in the face, but she wanted to!  The Klingons whine that everyone is hiding like targ, but Reed would resent that.  He had no shame in hiding. It brings him closer to T'Pol.   Besides, he can kick but and he doesn't have to prove it.  Reed waits, rifle ready.  He looks at Archer like 80p.  T'Pol calls 'Captain!' and Reed is up and at her side before Archer.  Now was it that T'Pol was calling or that Reed just likes the sound of 'Captain Reed'? Both methinks.

Malcolm squeezes next to T'Pol with his rifle, and Mr. Prepared also has a pistol on his side.  Archer reports to Malcolm that the gang is too far north.  Reed motions with his rifle where they need to move, and Archer follows.  Hehe. Reed leads and T'Pol follows behind him.  Reed tells Archer further, then 'This is good.' and Archer obeys.  I must admit, first half of season two, the slash points to A/R, but anyway.
Reed takes point and aims his rifle.  T'Pol looks annoyed. Dirty and now next to Trip, who strangly is trying to emmulate my headband.  Reed raises and lowers his rifle as the people pass him, ever so careful he is.  Tessec gives some gazelle lame speech, but turns to Reed and adds 'We'll  be ready.'  Cause Reed saved the day, again. Ooo.. .at least Archer pats him on the back this time. Wow.
